Open Question: I have terrible dreams during my pregnancies..help!?
I am 6 weeks pregnant and the nightmares have started. When I was pregnant with my oldest(this is baby number 3) I had horrible dreams every night about my mom dying. She passed away a little over a year before my oldest was born and I never came to terms with her death. Now that I am pregnant again these nightmares have started. It's pretty much the same nightmare every night-my mom dies a violent death-which is stranger because she passed away of hear failure. I know odd dreams are common for pregnant women but the ones I have leave me waking up in tears. I know this isn't normal and I don't know how to cease them. I am honestly scared for my mental health because when my mom died I nearly had a nervous breakdown and I don't want that to happen again. I can't take 8 more months of this. What can I do to help myself and the mental health of me and my unborn baby? It's been 7 years since my was gone, will I ever make my peace with it? Please help. I would go visit her grave but she was cremated and the sister who has the ashes lives 3 hours away and we don't receive along.

Open Question: Who can help me translate this tagalog sentence into English?

Open Question: I am 36 wks pregnant,my baby is measuring only at 33wks. Stress tests are normal, very active, any advise?
I am a very tiny framed girl as well.. and I myself have always had problems gaining weight.. I started out at 108lbs and I weigh 133lbs now. So my weight gain as been good. Back in May my AFP screening test came back that I could be high risk for downs.. I said NO to the "Amnio" being done.. bc either way it wouldnt change my mind about the pregnancy.. She had a level 2 ultra sound.. it came back normal, stress tests are normal, the baby is very active, heart beat is great.. At 36 weeks.. she weighs 5lbs and 3oz.. which I thought was really good bc last month she only weight 3lbs 8oz.. Other than her measuring tiny (including her head) everything is pointing out that she is a normal healthy baby.. Do you think bc I am tiny that I am just having a tiny baby? I am also wondering if this is common for babies to measure tiny.. but when delivered arrive out to be normal health babies? I have heard that ultra sounds arent exact and that they can be off as a whole LB. This happen 2 any 1?

Resolved Question: How many others have been succesfull with a lo-carb diet?
Ok, so me and my mom have both maintained EXCELLENT health over the past 9 years. we are active, maintain very close if not right on our goal weights, and i have had 2 babies and lost every of my baby fat the first time, and i have about 10 lbs to go this time. We eat huge salads, lots of veggies, fresh ground wheat bread, and every the meat of every nice that we want, along with every the mayo and salad dressing we want. both of us have excellent cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, hearts, and plenty of energy. So, my question is, why do we receive a lot of flak when i say that i eat lo carb? Ummm whole grain bread and Salads ARE lower carbs. that is what is in the revised Atkins diet books. We just skip or eat sparingly of deserts regular, store bought bread, rice potatoes, etc. Why is it that when we went on the atkins diet, we ate salads, and every one else eats beef witha side of chicken the typical salad only has about 5-7 carbs, not including if you take out the fiber. I eat less because i just dont car for it, but my mom will eat half of a boiled egg, rounded out with mayo, and the nurses at her dr.s office every took notes of her diet the last time she went for a physical. They said that they had not seen someone that healthy in years.

Open Question: Horrified......?
I'm like the person for some reason everyone feels okay talking to. I guess I have lots of friends and receive along with everyone, but don't try to make everyone receive mad at someone or try to receive someone embarrassed. So this girl texts me litterally 1 hour ago. She isn't my best pal but we hang out a little (also 14). She told me she made a huge mistake and she's pregnant (she took a home test). She's so worried about her parents, the baby, her health, etc. I'm trying to comfort her, but freaking out too. What can I tell her? I mean she has no clue how to even tell her parents. Then we were talking about what she would do, and I'm telling her adoption is probably the best. She now made me freak out. WEll, she is almost 15. She's my neighbor, one grade ahead. Not sure if that's much better though lol. I told her there is always the option that God will take it into his possess hands and... well, I know it sounds kinda mean but she may have a miscarriage.

Open Question: When to start my baby on solids...?
My baby is 14 weeks old, and is exclusively breastfed. I aim to keep this up, and hopefully not introduce any formula milk. However, when would be a good time to introduce solid food so that I don't have to breastfeed so often? I know 'they' say one should wait til the baby is 6 months but.... My baby was born a relatively whopping 10lbs and 10ozs, and is about 15llbs now. He is in perfect health; hasn't even had a nappy rash yet! "I know 'they' say one should wait til the baby is 6 months but...." But what?" Whoooaaa! Quite a laconic retort if ever I heard one! As you can look from the replies here, some people recommend 4,5,6 months. As it happens, I will most likely go for the 6 month rule, except if the baby expresses real interest in solid food or can easily sit up alone before he reaches that age. I am not sure about going for cereal either; I'd have thought veggies, fruits and then cereal.

Resolved Question: Dog is withdrawn and doesn't react to typical doggy commands/attention grabbers?
Long story short, I found a neglected dog 3 days ago. It has be groomed, taken to the vet, and allowed to explore my home. She hasn't wagged her tail once. She doesn't respond to treats, petting, squeaky noises, toys, or even baby talk. She also completely ignores my other pets and doesn't even look in their direction when they walk/run past. She's not deaf as she looks at the TV when it makes a weird noise and she looks at the cuckoo clock when it cuckoos. Shes not blind as she could find the water dish and can jump on couchs/chairs and find the doggy door as soon as she came into my home. I've never had a dog that was so withdrawn and non-responsive. She also seems to be afraid of men. I took her to the vet the first day I had her but he gave her an every clear health wise. What should I do to receive her to be more responsive? I'd like to at least receive her leash trained but I don't know where to start as she is so unresponsive. The vet says shes about 4 years old and a shih tzu. She has severe urine burns on her feet, belly, and behind and the groomer thinks she may have been kept in a box. How do I start to show this little dog it's alright??

Open Question: Moms, what would you do?
I have a 6 month old baby who is crawling, pulling up, and cruising. We are visiting my inlaws in August. My mom inlaw isn't in the best of health, and her home isn't the cleanest of places. The thing that I'm worried about is their carpets. They are 30 years old, and very dirty, worn, and full of dust and dog hair. (They have a german sheperd.) I would not sit on the carpet and I certainly don't want my baby to crawl around on such unsanitary conditions. You know how babies are- put everything in their mouth. In the past we've put down a big quilt and let him on there, but he wasn't quite as moble then and it was easier to contain him. What solutions do you have? Oh yeah, we live 8 hours away so when we visit, it's for days at a time, so I really can't have him sit in an baby seat or on my lap the whole time. Plus, he's very active and wants to move around. I am not a germophobe, BUT... my doctor did tell me that babies and young kids are most at risk for picking up things like the MRSA bacteria and stuff. I know I can't shelter my baby completely, but who knows what is living in 30 year old carpets!

Open Question: Why are women becoming baby machines in an already over crowded world?
im not talking 2 or 3 kids, im talking more than 3 or 4 or 5 6, this world is going through a major crisis with food shortage hitting western countries constant health worries, taxes galore and petrol and food rocketing not to mention how the world is a lot less safer than say 20 years ago, what will it be like in another20 years, so why do women keep lying on there backs, and breeding, it disgusts me, please don't think im a saddo, every women has the right to glad kids vomiting around there greedy feet, but can't they say NO or something. Schools overrun with kids are ruder by the jug jar, and to be honest theres too many people on this planet. I think these women, or baby machines i call them should cease adding to the population and just be glad with 3 kids, but im sure every you winging mummies will receive back saying we adore our kids, im sure you do, but I DON'T AND NEITHER DOES THE WHOLE POPULATION so quit having yapping babys. think about the world they will live in for once.

Open Question: Need a dentist for my 4 yr old nearly 5 yr old in Decatur Illinois or near Decatur Illinois? Any help?
So we have medicaid and we need a dentist that will look her besides the Local health Dept. They want to charge a fee for the hospital since they want her put to snooze while they are pulling her 2 back teeth, they want 350.00 fee, but that is why I am on medicaid for her, because we cant afford a out of pocket fee. So they wouldnt do it, which really pissed me off to say the least. Anyways its been 2 months and now half of one of the teeth came out. SHe is slightly in pain but nothing major she tells me. I dont need any mean answers about her teeth. We brush her teeth 4 times per day and have since she got her first tooth as a baby. Her sister and brother every have perfect teeth which they receive from their fathers side. I always made sure the kids teeth were greatly brushed since bad teeth and gums run in my family, but my daughter who is 4 got the bad teeth in my family. The dentists in my area wont take kids till they are 4 yrs old which is another neg. But we need a dentist asap!

Resolved Question: How do you tell someone something...?
When whatever you tell them could ruin your life? No I didn't cheat, I'm not that stupid. It's the step-daughter thing. It was perfectly fine when he went and saw her a couple hours a day a couple times a week. That was great; I could use those hours away from him to relax or work on my classwork. Now we have a baby and those visits to his 1st daughter are difficult because I'm at home with the baby every the time anyways while he's at work- then he gets home and goes to her- I don't receive a break with the baby. Ok the problem isn't really that, I can deal with being the one who spends most of the time with my daughter. The problem is now his ex-wife may be moving three hours away with her best pal and she's told him he can have their daughter!1-we have no room for another child in the home, quite literally. We share a place with my parents because of my dad's health and we barely have room for every 4 of us and the baby- we can't provide any space for a 4 yr old. The second problem is--- --is that I've tried to spend time with her, tried to be nice and play with her even tho being a step-mom makes me uncomfortable. She doesn't respond very well. I can understand flat ignoring me-that's fine her dad can deal with her.....but we have a month old baby and I don't like the way she acts around her. I'm afraid she'll toss one of her tantrums and hurt the baby out of jealousy. She's already thrown a tantrum because her mom told her "daddy's with his new baby" one day when she asked where he was and she screamed and cried and threw things and yelled "NO I'M HIS ONLY BABY!" I can't talk to my husband about this either because I know he'll chose her over us. The only person I may be able to talk to about this is my counselor (I have postpartum depression) but besides airing it out there's nothing she can do for me about this.. I know there's gonna be some stupid responses to this but I really do want to be able to deal with this child if she comes to live with us. I AM giving this kid a chance, she's not giving me one. If we could afford a bigger home that would be great- we can't. We can barely make ends meet right now since I'm on maternity leave so affording anything other than what we have is out of the question. Yes I knew I would be a stepmom but the way things were it was never set in rock that he would receive custody, so it was never a real issue until now.

I've lost a lot of weight to the point where I look bad and I want a way to gain weight without flabbiness. Are there sure flame ways to put some flesh on in a healthy fashion? I liked the way I looked when I was 5 months prego....without the baby bump of course......my arms were filled out, not muscly, my face was filled out, shoulders, etc. BTW i'm 5'4" and about 15 lbs underweight. Okay I dont have time to excersize because I have 2 babies........one keeps me running constantly so thats enough excersize. I was looking more for food regiments or plans or just plain old foods that dieters stay away from. sorry.....exercise....duh

Resolved Question: how can i get my girlfriend health or dental insurance?
my girlfriend and i have been living together for a little over five years, we share a baby and an apartment. i have a good job that offers both health and dental although we must be married for her to be added. now truthfully i cant afford to pay for any insurances and she only works about 18 hrs a week so therefor she cant afford insurance either. we tried to apply with medicade and affinity and both denied her because i make to much money on paper. what other options do i have, im 21 and she 22 and already she has lost two teeth because of the breast feeding. pls help! oh, and i cant afford to receive married yet.

Open Question: How do I speak a gynocologist instead of my regular doctor in Ontario Canada?
Hello - I have a family doctor whom I don't look very much of because he isn't terribly personable. Also, he seems rather smug towards women, and inconvenienced by me asking questions. I haven't been terribly impressed with him, or his lack of eye contact, or his abrupt physicals where he doesn't seem to even be paying attention or mentally conscious. However ...there's a shortage of doctors here and I don't have a choice. At this point, however I've been having some feminine symptoms I'd like to be checked out - how do I look a gynocologist in Ontario? I want to have some one who I can talk to about feminine health and not feel weird around. I want to keep on top of my health because we're going to be trying for a baby soon and I want to be at my top game. Does any one have any suggestions? I know this limits people to those who have knowledge of the Canadian health care system. Thanks to everyone who offers advice!

Open Question: Anyone Pro-Life??!!?
So maybe it is just this day and age, every about women's rights and everything, but I am a teenage girl, and not anti-feminist (like my grandmother). I believe that women should have equal rights, but I don't believe that they should kill a living baby that is growing inside of them! I can't believe that it can be legal to kill a baby when it is inside the body, but not on the outside! What's the difference??!! I think that most people confuse this issue with being a women's rights issue than a moral or health issue. Most people who talk out in my area are Pro-choice, but I strongly disagree. Please, Pro-Life people share your opinion! Thanks Wulfen, I forgot that part of the argument. How can women be fighting for this so-called "right" if they were at fault in the first place? You shouldn't have to decide whether to receive an abortion or not, because you shouldn't be having sex unless you want a baby! People can be so ignorant!

Resolved Question: Am I the only 'bad' mom out there not using BPA free bottles and pacifiers?
Everyone keeps telling me I need to switch to BPA free bottles and pacifiers. I value my baby's health, but do I really need to spend the money to receive new bottles and pacifiers (I know its not that much, but is it necessary?). How many other mothers out there still use bottles that are not BPA free?

Open Question: What would you have done?
I found a cat that was in very needy health in the alley. I nursed it back to good health. I found out she was pregnant. So she had her six babies. every healthy. I put an ad out FREE KITTENS. No luck after two weeks and I didn't want them or her either. So I took the kittens and her mom to the Humane Society. Now everyone is saying I'm mean a uncaring and I should have waited longer. Well they didn't have a cat in their garage crapping and urinating every over the place even after buying a cay tray. They didn't have to odor and clean up every that every day. They didn't buy the cans of cat food and medicine. I went has far as I could to give that cat and her kittens a chance. A person is only allowed to have five animals in a home anyway. I did what I could. What would you have done?

Resolved Question: New Studies On Babies In the Womb.. PLEASE READ :)?
Alot of people thing that a baby doesn't even look like a baby until further along. But this shows pictures of babies at week 8 and further.. Even the week 8 baby clearly looks like a baby. Also they found out lots of babies starting at week 12 start doing things that typical newborns do.... They also have REAL smiles in the womb because it is so great for them in there. Check out these links and tell me what you think! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/3847319.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3846525.stm Click on the next (stupid to say I know) and look at every the pictures and read about the week and what they are doing. I think this is so chilly. The only reason I post this is because I read an question earlier but didn't post this in time for anyone to really look at it. So what do you think about these new discoveries? I heard my babies heartbeat at 9 weeks too! It was a strong 160's for the first appt. Then it was about 157 at the second appt. Now I receive to receive my first U/S on August 14th at 17 wks.. I CAN'T WAIT I am getting a 3D/4D ultrasound.
